Ellis Patents cable cleats are the strongest and best selling cable cleats in the world. They are fabricated from non-magnetic materials (such as 316 marine grade stainless steel or extruded aluminum), or utilize galvanized steel with a 316 stainless steel closure bolt to prevent circulating currents. We recommend using integral low smoke, low fume, zero halogen liners to protect cables from damage in such severe applications as:
- short circuit conditions
- seismic environments
- high shock and vibration (e.g. military applications)
- long vertical runs
- thermal cable expansion and elongation
- cable chafing due to vibration and differential movement between fixings
For additional assistance in selecting the appropriate cable cleat, please refer to our Cable Cleat Selection Guide

Emperor cable cleats are
available for trefoil and single cable applications where the highest levels of short circuit withstand are required. Emperor cable cleats are rated for BS EN50368:2003 Category-2 resistance to electromechanical forces during short circuits (i.e. cable and cleats are intact and reusable after two short circuits). The unique patented design (including features such as captive closure bolt) allows rapid installation. Manufactured in 316L marine grade stainless steel, the Emperor cleat offers ultimate protection against the harshest environmental conditions. To protect and cushion cables during short circuit conditions, the Emperor cable cleat has an integral low smoke, low fume, zero halogen liner and base pad. Recommended fixing methods include one bolt, two bolts or framing channel mounting. An intermediate retention strap can be used between wider spaced cleats for a more economical installation.
